Manoranjan 'Mao' Mohapatra, Chief Executive Officer
Mao’s career has been dedicated to the development and deployment of innovative software communications solutions in rapidly growing markets, transforming high potential businesses into true world-beating organizations. His track record for enabling innovation, his deep knowledge of telecom related technology and his wealth of experience in a range of operational and marketing roles provide a strong leadership base from which to enhance Comviva’s position as the leading provider of integrated VAS solutions in emerging markets globally.
Prior to joining Comviva, Mao was President and COO at Aricent, where he enjoyed a 15 year career and was instrumental in building the company from a relative start up to a globally recognized brand, with over US$300 million in revenues. At Aricent, Mao led teams in the areas of R&D, product management, operations, and sales and marketing, gaining hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of the software and communications industries and honing his leadership talent.
Before moving to Aricent, Mao was a core member of the Center for Development of Telematics (CDOT), where he made a significant contribution to research and development in telecom switching, and where he began his career.
Mao holds a Bachelors degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
Ambar Sur, Head - Global Market Units
Ambar is the Senior Vice President for global market units at Comviva. Ambar combines his deep knowledge of technology with an appreciation of market and business drivers - skills that have enabled him to lead teams that develop winning propositions, delivered in a customer-focused manner. With a strong strategic vision and a keen focus on processes, people, and fault-free product delivery, Ambar has been able to win customer loyalty with leading operators, globally. He has handled various roles within the company including Chief Marketing Officer, Director- EMEA and Vice President - Airtel market unit.
Ambar began his 19 year career in Washington DC as a project manager with LCC, a pioneer in wireless voice and data services for the telecom industry, where he set up various networks around the world. Having gained experience of the wireless world, Ambar moved to India to work with BPL Mobile, where he oversaw Network Performance & RF Planning for the company. He later moved to BPL Innovision to establish OyeIndia, the group's web technology company.
In 2001, Ambar co-founded CellCloud Technologies, where he was a key driver of business growth, building sales of the company's innovative prepaid solution in India, and helping ensure the company became profitable within a short period. CellCloud merged with Comviva in 2002. Ambar has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in the USA and an MS in Telecom from Brooklyn Polytechnic, USA.
Sriram G, Chief Financial Officer
Sriram heads the finance and legal teams at Comviva. Sriram combines his deep expertise in finance with experience in financial planning, cost optimisation, mergers & acquisitions, SOX, shared services, ERP implementation and international taxation to empower Comviva to gain momentum in its growth trajectory.
Sriram has around 19 years of industry experience and is passionate about processes, tools design in ERP & productivity improvement through metrics in various operational areas.
Prior to joining Comviva, he was based at Boston, USA with Patni Americas Inc. as Vice President, heading their Finance operations in North America. Prior to Patni, he was based at Bangalore with Motorola India, heading finance for India software operations, and was also their Company Secretary. He has also worked with teams at Larsen & Toubro (manufacturing) & Sanmar Electronics (telecom industry).
Sriram holds a degree in CA, ICWA and CS.
Sandyp Bhattacharya, Head - Human Resources
Sandyp brings multi-industry HR expertise and wide experience of managing employee recruitment and retention in rapidly growing organizations. To create employee satisfaction and achieve business objectives, Sandyp marries a quantitative SLA view of HR management with a strong focus on building soft-skills. As an HR professional he aims to unlock the potential of every individual in the organization, enabling the creation of great teams – and a world-beating company.
Previously, Sandyp headed the Corporate HR function for Aricent Technologies (Holdings) Ltd, a communication software major with over 8,000 employees, where he was instrumental in integrating multiple organizational entities, and drove world-wide HR initiatives across the company’s development centers in India, Europe, China, Mexico, South Africa and the US. Whilst at Aricent, he also spearheaded the global implementation of ERP-HR along with other industry benchmark HR applications.
Earlier in his career, Sandyp was an HR and Change Management Consultant to Satyam Computers, where he helped formulate HR policies and structure the organization to effect positive change to better manage the company’s Indian and International multi-industry clientele.
Sandyp began his career in HR with IPCL (Reliance Group), a petrochemicals major, in 1996.
Sanjay Rastogi, Head - Global Delivery and Support
Sanjay heads Global Delivery and Support (GDS) function at Comviva, which comprises of supply chain management, program management and post-deployment customer support functions. Sanjay is a hard core services delivery professional with 23 years experience in deployment of complex GSM & CDMA telecom networks, operations, technical support & supply chain management.
Prior to joining Comviva, Sanjay worked for 3 years with Nokia Siemens Networks, Gurgaon (NSN) as Head of Services - Idea account, instrumental in the successful launch of 3G services, and 12 years with Alcatel-Lucent Technologies (ALU), Gurgaon where as a G.M-Projects, he deployed many multimillion $ telecom projects across India. He also served Communication Test Design Inc. (CTDI), India as Country Head for 2 years and Xerox, India for 7 years in the area of supply chain management.
Sanjay holds a B. Tech degree from Harcourt Butler Technological Institute (H.B.T.I), Kanpur and is a PMP from PMI, USA.
